Rohail Nazir will lead Pakistan Shaheens in Darwin Series
Rohail Nazir, a wicketkeeper-batsman, has been named the Pakistan Cricket Board's captain of the Pakistan Shaheens for the Top End T20 Series in Darwin, Australia, which will be run by Northern Territory Cricket (NTC) from July 30 to August 6.
The Australian Capitol Territory's ACT Comets, Melbourne Stars, Melbourne Renegades, and Papua New Guinea (PNG) will also compete in the six-team event in a T20 format, with the top-two sides moving on to the final, in addition to the NTC squad, NT Strike, and Pakistan Shaheens.
On August 8 and 9, respectively, Shaheens will play two 50-over matches against PNG and NT Strike after the T20 games.
The Darwin tour is a part of the PCB's strategy to provide aspiring cricketers more chances to play away matches in various settings against various opponents across all forms so they may improve their abilities and widen the player pool. In this regard, the Pakistan Shaheens have just returned from a tour of Zimbabwe and are now attending the ACC Men's Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Sri Lanka. Shaheens will compete at the 19th Asian Games, which will be held in Hangzhou in 2022 from September 19 to October 8.
