Careem is expanding its engineering hubs

To promote technological innovation and economic growth in Pakistan, Careem is expanding its engineering hubs.

The largest all-encompassing app in the area, Careem, is growing its engineering centres throughout Pakistan, Jordan, and Egypt. Numerous available engineering positions are being actively sought for by the organisation in important locations including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Amman, Cairo, and Alexandria. Currently, Careem employs over 600 tech specialists in its engineering centres, with Pakistan, Jordan, and Egypt accounting for 55% of the organization's overall technical workforce. Additionally, Careem employs engineers in Germany and the United Arab Emirates.

Front-end, back-end, and full-stack engineering, web engineering, mobile engineering for iOS and Android platforms, data and AI, and infrastructure engineering are just a few of the disciplines represented in the open roles at Careem's engineering hubs. Careem has already employed approximately 80 people for tech-related positions in Pakistan, Jordan, and Egypt since the year 2023 began.

These engineering centres are essential in creating the technology that underpins Careem's Super App services in the area. The Super App platform offers a variety of services, including partner services, Careem Rides, Careem Food, Careem Quik, and Careem Pay. The engineering leaders at Careem utilise their experience from top global technology businesses to address regional problems and develop cutting-edge technologies.

In order to undertake research on unresolved regional problems and advance the region's economy, Careem has also formed relationships with national and international academic institutions. STEF-DHNet, a demand prediction model that incorporates cutting-edge neural networks to analyse external factors and their effect on ride-hailing demand, was launched as a result of one particularly noteworthy partnership with the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).

The 'Next Gen' programme, which Careem has introduced to support the development of young engineers, offers worthwhile educational opportunities and job opportunities across the area. The organisation offers Next Gen engineers the chance to work alongside experienced technical specialists, giving them practical experience solving real-world problems. Careem offers an embedded technical training programme that makes use of cutting-edge tools and resources. The engineering centres of Careem offer 'Next Gen' learning possibilities.
